Le Grand Restaurant

5 Restaurants To Visit When You’re In Paris For Maison et Objet 2019

7 rue d’Aguesseau, 8th arrondissement; jeanfrancoispiege.com

A bold and elegant modern style restaurant of a young chef (Jean-Francois Piège), just awarded 2 Michelin stars, is everything we could ever dream of. If you’re an interior design lover, this restaurant is for you, offering you an harmonic and peaceful but youthful and modern ambiance with incredible marble walls and open kitchen, grey cement walls that works perfectly with the furniture, glass ceiling with geometric patterns, thick gray honeycomb-pattern carpeting, and beautiful dining chairs that are just as comfortable as they are sophisticated and colorful.

Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athenee

25 Avenue Montaigne, 8th arrondissement; alain-ducasse.com

If you’re looking for a restaurant with a meat-free menu and the magic of Parisian interior design, then this one is tailor-made just for you. A deconstructed crystal chandelier, in which each piece of cut crystal is suspended from an invisible wire, takes the core center place of this restaurant’s ceiling. There is a fleet of flying-saucer-style chrome banquettes and an oversize hooded loveseat, creating a clean and daring look that gives us a certain 1960s retro-Futurist charm.

Restaurant David Toutain

29 rue Surcouf, 7th arrondissement; davidtoutain.com

The chef of this restaurant, David Toutain, is not just a rapidly rising star in Paris with incredible talent for cuisine, but also a lover of modern design, which his restaurant smartly and beautifully takes on as its aesthetic identity. With a minimalist decor, teal-blue walls and custom-made oak tables with ceramic insert centerpieces, this restaurant certainly impresses anyone who visits. “The look of the restaurant is as much a part of the story I tell as the dishes I serve,” says Toutain, and he couldn’t be more right about that. His restaurant is the embodiment of his own ideology and passion, and we certainly recommend it to anyone who visits the city of lights.

Hexagone

85 Avenue de Kléber, 16th arrondissement; hexagone-paris.fr

Hexagone impresses not only for its cuisine but also for its decor. It’s a restaurant that is intended to plot a new course for haute cuisine in Paris.designed in a modern lounge style by interior architects Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier, the space features impeccable lighting and tongue-in-cheek wall coverings and other graphics that were inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Café de l’Homme

17 Place du Trocadéro, 16th arrondissement; cafedelhomme.com

After a makeover, this modern restaurant has become one of the most stylish new tables in Paris, and certainly a must visit for design lovers. The building is in dates all the way back to 1937 and with this new makeover, they smartly and respectfully kept the art deco look of the space, with views of the Eiffel Tower, the Champ de Mars, and the Jardins du Trocadéro, but made it warmer with sand-color cedar walls and ash-and-marble tables. The key element of this restaurant’s decor? The lighting pieces by Alain Guilhot, subtle and intimate, that give the space a much more modern and sophisticated ambiance.
